Splash Silkie eye color?

What's the correct eye color for splash Silkies? I recently saw a hen with very light brown eyes...she kinda freaked me out a little

. She was an older hen...does that have anything to do with it?

The standard calls for black eyes. I do not beleive age has any thing to do with eye color I have a few splash with light eyes too, I personally don't stress to much about eye color if the bird has the right package

My splash hen is around 1 1/2-2 years old. She has lime green brownish eyes.

Well she is show quality but idk if that makes a diff.

Eye colour is part of being SQ. The standard calls for black eyes for silkies. I have seen plenty of dark brown eyes though. Dark brown doesn't bother me, but lighter colours would be an issue.

I personally find the occasional green eyed chicken (never seen it on a silkie, though) interesting, and rather pretty, but if you're breeding for show, you need the correct colour according to the standard for that breed.
