I got two new bantie chicks from TSC this morning. After I had purchased them I noticed one had a splay leg and splayed toe. I gave them good litter to stand on and the splay leg has worked itself out within a few hours.
Big question is: Do I need to worry about trying to fix the splayed middle toe? I attempted a couple of things and the chick absolutely freaked out. I didn't won't the stress of messing with her be worse than issue... She is a feather legged frizzle, any advice that doesn't involve tape??

I'd go by what the deformity looks like, that is, whether it looks like it will eventually cause some sort of sore on the toe. If the toes are simply spread apart more than normal, and what is normally the bottom of the toe touches the ground, I'd ignore it.

The pad touches the ground sometimes. I've attached a picture because I honestly am not sure what to do. Never had a chick with this problem before. Do you think I should just splint the one toe?

My speckled sussex has the same problem. I actually didn't notice it untill she was fully mature, but I haven't done anything to correct it and she has been fine (It never gets in the way or anything, and it doesn't seem painful)

I ended up using a bandaid and a tooth pick to splint the toe. I just couldn't stop thinking about how it might become a bigger issue later on even though it doesn't appear to bother Lollipop!
