I have 2 baby button quail, one of the two has a splayed leg. I’m not sure what I should try to fix it. They are so small, fragile and jumpy. I tried a bandaid and the chick freaked out. I read about a pint glass method but I just can’t decide what is the best thing to do. When I take the splayed leg chick out the other chick cries for her.

That sounds hard. I totally understand how button chicks can be. Hard to handle, let alone fix their legs. How bad is the splay?? If it's not horrible I'd leave the chick be. I had a Cornish X chick completely recover from splay leg. Maybe get a few more chicks in case the one isn't thriving. Keep us posted. Buttons can be fun and adorably tiny but also very hard to work with and care for ;)

Thank you so much for responding, YES it is so hard to fix, they are so small. She is doing good, she’s healthy other than her leg, she hobbles around pretty bad, I hatch all of my chicks from eggs, this round I ended up with 2. Is there places where you can get live chicks? She is starting to flap her wings but, it just looks so difficult the way she walks. She has figured it out, she knows how to get around for sure, but it definitely makes things a lot harder. She uses the other chick as a foot rest sometimes.

Update: The button quail's leg is getting worse, It is so bad to the point she walks with it up in the air, She kicks it out to the side, I do not know how to help her. Its not swollen but she stumbles around to get places. Like a said before she uses the other quail as foot rests.
