Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone has had a chicken with a split beak like this and if it will cause any issues with my hen in the future. She has had it since birth and is about a year old, so I doubt it will, but just want to make sure! And yes, she absolutely poses for the camera 😊 (this is my first post so please let me know if it is in the wrong forum or any issues with the picture).

Looks like an easy fix.
You can take nail clippers, & clip the two end tips down to size?

It’ll be fine as long as she can drink and eat normally.

If it's been fine, then<shrugs>
A side view here might help, to see if top and bottom beak are meeting well.
Looks like the top may be overgrown.

This will help if they need a trim:

I too am of the idea, that if it was going to cause problems it would have by now. Often times what happens with a malformed beak, is that a chick can keep up for a while, then as the chick grows and needs to eat more for the bigger body the malformed beak keeps them from eating enough, and they starve to death. That did happen to me, and I would never keep another one.

However, this bird looks full size and is bright eyed and healthy. I don't think I would hatch her eggs, but I would keep her and not worry about it.
