Split-wing???

Thanks for the info everyone. If they do have split wings, if I breed to a rooster with good wings what will happen? Is split wing dominant or recessive?

If you have an option don't breed a split winged bird. I don't know if the gene that cause this condition are recessive or dominant but I do know that it passes to many of the offspring & it's hard to breed out.

Thankyou. Im starting to think about choosing another breed entirely to show. All the birds I buy have some disqualification to them that I don't learn about until after I receive them.

There's nothing wrong with the breeds you're choosing. You need to start choosing more honest sellers. I don't sell birds to people interested in showing that I wouldn't show myself. I Have sold birds that beat me at a later show more than once.

I dont expect show quality birds, but I'd like to have some nice breeders with no disqualifications. I've contacted many breeders and they dont have anything available at this time. I'll have to contact them again at a later date.
