So we built a huge run for our chickens with plenty of perching opportunities, swings (they could care less about them) on sand.. anyways I made the mistake of letting them out one evening with me in the yard. Once they tasted grass they beg to come out every evening. So I let them for a few evenings free range, which has turned into a week now. But now I’ve noticed during the day they won’t touch their feed and basically starve themselves till the evening when they can eat grass and range. I feel like maybe I should never have let them out because our yard is so lush it’s like paradise and all this time, money and effort given to their coop and run was futile. But my biggest concern is their lack of interest in their feed. I’m worried about them not getting all their required nutrients. I’m not sure if I should not let them out in the evenings anymore (creatures of routine), would they start to eat their feed again or...? Any advice from free rangers.. how do you get your flock to eat their feed..? Help
