Spoiled feathered friends

I was just curious what others here at BYC do to spoil their chickens??


I mix my own scratch feed ( 40 lb black sun flower, 50 lb-2 grain scratch, wild bird feed blend 20 lb) mix it all together and give them a couple scoops morning and evenings, I also give them the grass clippings every week, throw in chunks of hay for them to tear apart and scratch thru, all non meat scraps from the house along with the regular laying feed, grit and crushed oyster shell

I also have tree limbs in their runs for them to climb and play on.

The baby fuzzy butts get mash every evening and meal worms once or twice a week

mine are SPOILED! i cook noodles for them, buy them treats. they LOVE leftover salmon

meal worms are very good for growing chicks, the extra protein gives them a boost. they love live crickets, too! give it a try!
