I have eight free range hens that are in need of a new home before June 4,2014. All are two years old and have never had a health issue. There are three Buff Orpington, two Easter Eggers, one Black Sex Link, one Red Sex Link and one Barred Rock.
I am not mailing or delivering these but asking for someone who is local to Auburn Washington and willing to pick up.
Thank you!

Have you tried posting in your local Washington thread? Best of luck to you! I know how attached I am to my birds and would want them to go to the best home possible.

I am a retired veterinarian so I have kind of a menagerie of rescued animals. Here are some photos:

The current chicken house and the electric fence that surrounds about an acre of meadow and the pond. The chickens cohabitate with ducks and turkeys, all free range during the day supervised by our two dogs and safely behind the fence at dusk.

And this is our banty rooster - he takes care of the little hens like these two and also (hilariously, but gently) breeds our full size chickens

like this pretty gold lace Wyandotte lady. And here's our barn at the end of the rainbow...

So I would be happy to add your chickens to our flock if you think we'd make a good home. I can either pick them up or you're welcome to come visit my "petting zoo" with the pony, miniature donkeys, cockatoos, etc.

You have a beautiful home and generous heart! I would be pleased to have our chickens join you. Unfortunately I cannot deliver. My schedule is very open but I need the pick up to be before the 4th of June.

If you email me I will send you my address - [email protected]

These hens have been adopted! Thank you each for your suggestions and help. I am so glad they have a terrific new home.

Sincerely,
