I have 8 week old black sex link hens..they have all their feathers and weather is nice right now but they go outside for a few minutes then go right back in the coop. They spend most of the daylight inside..is this normal for chickens?

I've heard it's normal for broilers to be coop potatoes.

Perhaps yours will spend more time outside each day. At eight weeks old they should be curious. It would also be fairly normal for an adult chicken confined all its life to fear the outside.

What are they doing in there all day?
