sportsman 1402 egg holder

So, I'm investing money in this nice incubator. I'm now broke! Can I use my own egg cartons with holes poked in the side and bottom instead of buying their egg holders? I don't plan to hatch the peeps in the cartons. They'll be going to the hatching tray on the bottom. (Leaving THAT debate out of it!) I've read the other threads and the question seems to be on hatching day, not the other 20. They problem I see is making sure that the trays are tight enough that they don't go roller coasting back and forth...

Any comments or concerns would be welcome.

Using egg cartons in place of the plastic egg trays should work fine. Ive known of several people doing that.

That would be fine I know when I bought my sportsman it came with paper egg flats to hatch in.
