Spotted Eggs is this normal?

I have Rhode Island Reds and Barred Plymouth Rocks. They are Pullets and have just started laying! In the winter! But, I noticed, sometimes the brown eggs have dark brown spots on them. Is this normal? Or is it a health thing? They seem healthy. They are big, vocal and play. I feed them tomatoes and spinach and basil. And sometimes cilantro. Just wondering if its normal. Thanks.
