I have an 8 week old langshan, I believe a pullet, that is having some strange leg problems. She acted like a normal chick until two weeks of age, running around, eating, drinking, chirping.
At about 2 weeks and 2 days old, she started to stumble around a bit, and fall down. Within a few days, her toes were curled, and her legs splayed out.
Since then, we have put hobbles on her legs, and have made 'casts' for her feet. Whenever we take them off, her toes go back to being curled, and her legs splayed out.
As of now, she is able to stumble around, eat, and drink, but unable to stand up straight for long periods of time.
What could be the cause of her illness?
Have you ever had a bird with this problem?
Any advice is appreciated!
Thank you!
