I have a blue slate turkey that is just over a week old. Shortly after hatching I noticed he had spraddle leg so I got the band-aids and have been splinting his legs. I have been giving poly-vi-sol as a supplement and started him on yogurt yesterday evening.
He has had the splint on for about a week now with not much improvement. He is eating, drinking, pooping, and preening himself normally.
I am just a little concerned that his leg is not getting any better. He is not in pain and there is no swelling.
His right foot is pointed at 12:00 but his left foot points at about 8:00 or 9:00. If I hold the joint in place both feet point at 12:00. I have tried cutting strips of ace bandage to wrap around him to hold the joint, but it seems a bit too constricting.
Any ideas? This little guy is the sweetest little turklette!!!! I really hope there is something that can be done for him.
