SPRADDLED?

It is a piece of a make up sponge. It works great. You could also use a piece of yarn and tie the legs together, not tight, so that they are in the position they are supposed to be. It isnt too late if it was born on saturday. Last year I hatched a bunch of call ducks, they all had spraddle leg, so I used this method and they were all fine. I thought it was genetic, but when I let the mom duck sit on her eggs, none had spraddle leg, so it must have been the incubator.

Okay, thanks. It sounds like all is not lost....WHEW! Yeah, this was the only one that hatched that way...the others were all fine....and it's the first time I have seen that. Thank you!

Okay...I was just worried about hurting it since it's REALLY spraddled....but I'll just be REALLY careful and I think I'm going to try the band-aid thing first...the sponge sounds like a good idea but it sounds like it would be harder to get it's little feet/legs through the holes & pulled through, vs the band-aid thing.....

Thanks!

So I had my hubby hold the chick & I carefully applied the band-aid to it's little feet.

Within just a few minutes, it was standing...

This morning, I saw it go over & eat/drink!

Thanks everyone!

My chick is still spraddled when I remove the bandaid (improving) ,but vigorous and getting stronger.
It is up on it's feet. I hope that it ill correct itself in a week or so.

Mine...I was "exercising" it's legs prior to putting it's legs in the band-aids...and one was getting stronger and was actually almost normal-looking.

This morning, it was standing (although a little wobbly) but it was eating/drinking on it's own.

How long has yours been wrapped?
