Spring and Fall thread clean-ups

Suggestion:

Twice a year we all go to our own threads and provide closure....updates, results etc.

Like when someone asks for help sexing a chick and many people try to help and advise and then we never hear the end result on what the chick turned out to be.

or a sick/injured chick, many people provide tons of help and advice and then there's no end post on what happened to the chicken.

I think there's a name for these threads, are they zombie threads or something like that?

Perhaps if we make it an official thing we can encourage posters to close their threads. Like make it a "Spring Cleanup week!"

Just a thought....

BTW you mentioned a zombie thread, that is a thread that started and no one has commented on it for months, if not years.
you can see I made a thread asking what a zombie thread was and resurrected it unsuccessfully last year. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/zombie-threads-and-not-the-breaking-dawn-variety.732813/

That might help some, but what about some of the people who have already un-watched the thread's?
it may not matter to those people anymore, but as long as the OP is still watched and at least simi active (some are on BYC just for a couple of days and never return, IDK why it's fun and interesting at least to me even if you don't look at the informational threads.) you can ask for an update, I did that on a few threads some time back while searching thru some old threads I was still subscribed to, and got a couple of updates and on at least one it was raised form the dead for a month or two with other comments from those still subscribed and some stumbling upon it for the first time.
