Would it be normal for a chicken to molt in spring? I have a singe hen that has a bunch of new pin feathers like she molted and now they are growing back. She isn't social which is why i hadn't noticed until now. It's mostly under her wings, vent and inside her legs. No signs of mites and all my other chickens are fine

Hi. I am no expert, but I just went through this. My hen began her molt in late March. MARCH! I thought something was wrong, told everyone she didn't have much time and to say their good-byes. 2 weeks or so later, her feathers are all grown back and she looks amazing. Even started laying again. Just make sure she has lots of protein for the molt. I don't know if this is what is going on, but I would say hens can molt in spring. Good luck.
