I don't know how this is possible but I'm hoping someone with more experience will enlighten me... My flock of 12 chickens is suddenly stopped laying and started molting this week. I always thought they molted in the fall, which they did last fall but it wasn't much of a molt. Now there's feathers everywhere. Is this normal if they only had a very light molt in the fall to molt again in the spring? I've checked them over for mites and other infestations and found nothing but dusted the coop with DE anyway. It appears to be a normal molt but the wrong time of year. Thoughts?

My SLW has started leaving tons of feathers in the coop and hasn't laid an egg for two weeks. Sounds like we are in the same boat.
