Hey all! Hoping someone can run me through a good routine start to finish of sprouting fodder for a small flock of 6 hens. I would love to start this summer now that we have had our babies for a year! But can only find posts on systems for larger flocks!

Hope you find the information you're looking for.

Good luck!

There are multiple small designs using shelving units like the link bellow...

This is one I considered doing, but I could not secure seed in my area at reasonable enough prices to make it worth my while, then I got a hookup at a local grocery store for day old produce and completely gave up on the idea...

Here is a more basic one...

Both designs are easy to scale up or down just using different sized bins...

I' new too. I tried to do chick cakes (oats or sunflower) to grow before second leaves. In TX I burnt them. I just sprout sunflower seeds now. I soak them in a colander/strainer for 12-24hrs covered w/paper towel. Then rinse put back in the bowl & cover w/papertowel. Rinse every 12hrs or so 2-3 days you will have 'short tails'. I throw it out like scratch they love to hunt & peck & it's packed w/power. Sorta like microgreens. K
