Hi, friends! My young hens love pecking through my woody mulch looking for meaty treats. I would like to build the nitrogen content in my mulch, and provide the girls with some healthy vegetables, so I have considered sprouting mung beans in that area for the hens to graze on and work back in to the soil. (Mung beans "fix" nitrogen from the air into nodules in their roots, and are used as cover crops for this reason). Does anyone have experience with feeding chicks sprouted mung beans? I've heard mixed reviews...
