Wow, this thread is SO old! Ellie is still looking beautiful, of course!

Chicky, I pick mine up the day they're born sometimes and that doesnt stop the parents from feeding them! Of course, I've had my birds for about two years so they do know me. I wouldnt recommend this with a first clutch or new birds. Heck, I wouldnt really recommend it period, Im just stubborn and my grandma cant walk out to see them in the pen, so I carry the babies to her!

Look like your cross is a yellow hen,as yellow is a sex link color.

Back when I got out of showing pigeon. There was a guy trying to breed a breed called Arch Angles Fantails. He start with the india fantail and Jacobins.
Her father is a Capuchine red split yellow.

If you check you will find you yellow cross will have about 16 tail feafther, not the normal 12.

They do GROW UP FAST

Wow, that sounds like an interesting cross! Did you ever find out if he went anywhere with them?

I haven't counted her tail feathers, but I will. I didn't know yellow was sex linked.

Thanks for all the info

Little more info. note the crop 8 days and younger you can see the cheese like crop milk, after 10 days it is grain.

Also red chicks have long fuss, yellow will have short fuss almost none.
