I'm just wondering if hens who do the squat are more likely to be the broody type, my brahma who has yet to lay did the squat for me today but she was really looking to mate tail in the air and everything, my andalusian and campine don't squat at all and from what I read about them they are less likely to go broody. anyone think its related?

Don't think it is related. I have 10 laying hens and the one who went broody NEVER squated. I have others who squat all the time and never go broody.

My squaters tend to be lower on the pecking order. Maybe that is why they are more submissive . . .
