A while ago I purchased a black Cochin bantam pullet that I named Midge. After quarantine she teamed up with my 13-week-old EEs Aspen and Quinn. And she became squat crazy! Even when I just walk around near her she squads so much she's pretty much touching the ground and stomping her feet.
I should probably mention that I'm in the middle of integrating her and the EEs into the flock with my GSLs.
So the pullets get chased. A lot.
Well today my head hen Poppy ran up to the little flock in order to chase them and maybe snag a feather or two.
Midge ducked low to the ground and stomped. Poppy froze. She had never had anybody squat for her before. Her facial expression was priceless!
After a few seconds Midge got up and ran away, though.
