Squawking like she means it

I have a pullet who laid her first egg to today , and she has been squawking non stop for a couple of hours!! And of course it is loud enough for the next county to hear… is this a normal behavior for a first time egg? Talk about egg song

Hours of egg song isn’t exactly normal, but if it’s her first?

I bet she’ll settle down pretty quickly and it’ll be a 10 minute thing. At least, I hope so for your sake

I have a new layer that no only squawks for 20 min when she lays but also takes over the squawking for everyone else when they lay. Or whenever she sees anyone else in a nesting box. Such a supportive sister.
