Squirrel in coop

My hens have been sleeping inside their coop, rather than on their perches since the weather has gotten colder. This morning we opened the coop to check for eggs and there was a dead squirrel in there, right where the girls sleep. Would the hens do this? There were no obvious wounds.

I actually had a dead squirrel just a few few away from my front door last night. I heard zero signs of combat that evening. Maybe old squirrels are just dying and falling right now
