I'm a newbie to hatching. As a birthday present we bought a 1602n hovabator still air model. First hatch was good on my terms and probably considered fair by most. Second hatch I had Guinea eggs set with chicken eggs on the same day and moved the chickens to a quickly put together hatcher. The makeshift hatcher did as needed. Then I had used it for the guinea eggs because I added some more chickens to the bator. One night the temp dropped and out of the 3 fertile guinea eggs 2 hatched. Now afterwards I did some reading (my best friend and worst enemy) I saw some people would remove a couple turning racks and set the eggs down and do a lockdown while other eggs stayed in the turner. I wanted to try this as I love experimenting and wanted to see the results. Well I boo-booed and locked down a day late. Chickens are pipping and the guinea eggs are still turning.

Just curious on the odds of guineas being ok with the humidity jacked for a couple days? And if anyone has some hands on experience how long should I give the chickens to hatch before I get the humidity back down to avoid drowning the guineas?
Honestly my makeshift hatcher was not only temperamental but seemingly a fire hazard lol hence my avoidance for this final (addicting) hatch out for our first year!

I'd be more worried about the chicks getting tangled up in the turner, unless you have it so they can't get near it somehow?

I have a stagered hatch going in an older hovabator 1602 and I'm looking at buying a second incubator for hatching. They are only 2-3 days apart though.
