Stale chick starter...?

A few days ago I bought a 25 lb. bag of chick starter from a local feed/hardware store. I opened it tonight, and it smelled... stale. Didn't look bad, didn't seem damp or moldy, just smelled old. I even compared it with a tiny bit of other starter I had left - the other smelled fine. My question is - will it harm my week old Seramas? I will try to return it to the feed store, but I don't know where my receipt is and I don't have any other starter on hand, so they'll have to eat it tonight or I'll need to go wrangle up some alternative food to tide them over until tomorrow.

Edit: In case it's relevant, the brand is Kelley's. I may just need to bit the bullet and drive an hour and a half to the nearest TSC tomorrow and get Purina.

My week old chicks are loving scrambled egg. Its a good starting food since it has all the nutrition they need to grow on. You could give them some of that so they don't have to eat as much stale food.

Yeah, it's DEFINITELY going back. About an hour after I opened the bag and posted here, I took another look - it's swarming with little black bugs. Thanks for the replies - I'm off to make the chickies eggs for lunch.
