i AM planning on brooding around 7 chicks in our barn next month.. They are standard sized stalls and there is electricity in the barn.. It is predator proof but has 2 windows...so that lets in cold air.. I will get pics tomorrow... It is fairly large.. im wondering how many heat lamps i will need...

As long as its draft free on the level your chicks will be you should be fine. You only need one area of the stall at 95 - not all of it. They need to be able to get away from the light. You might want to limit the area they have though - one might wander too far and not be able to find its way back to the light (in the first few days - after that you should be fine).

Maybe try one big red heat lamp to start and go from there? Put a thermometer on the floor to see what the temp is.
