Standard cochin egg laying

I am new to standard cochins and have heard they are poor to fair layers. My pullet is laying 5 lovely eggs a week right now, is this unusual?

We have a bantam blue cochin named Elvis and she is the best layer we have. She has no trouble keeping up with our production birds and lays 5-6 eggs a week....not to mention she is so darn pretty!

I'm glad to hear that some cochins can be good layers. I have 2 cochin mixes (half delaware). I am hopeful they will be good layers once they start

This is great to hear! They are such lovely birds and great with my kids too. My blue "bluebell" is my daughters favorite.
