We have upgraded our coop and i’m wondering if the chicken door is too high and if we should add a ramp inside. The door is 12”x12” and is about 18” off the floor.

Welcome to BYC. Where, in general, are you? You can put your general location into your profile and that will help people understand what conditions you're likely to be dealing with so that we can be more helpful when you ask questions.

When it comes to heights, a lot depends on your chickens. I have a California White who flies like a helicopter and would laugh at a mere 18" as an obstacle.

I also have a Light Brahma who, though not large for her breed, can barely fly at all and requires a ramp or steps to get onto anything over about a foot high.

Some photos of your setup would help us give better advice. :)

Yes... that.

All of my chickens are good flyers.

My chicken tractor has a pop door for the coop part that is almost 2 feet up... I only need a ramp or stump for chicks.

All adults, even roosters, jump right up. No ramp, no help, no outside perch.
