Starting a brooder for the first time

Hello All,
I am starting my first brooder soon and wanted to join a web blog and get input from others. If anyone has any tips or comments they want to share, feel free to let me know. I've done a lot of reading myself but anything helps....

I'm also making my first one too. To start them out I'm using a big clear plastic Christmas tree box and when they out grow that I will move them to a cardboard box style because I lack the tools to make anything else. Post pics of what you come up with OK?
