Starting small backyard silkie breeding?

There is a huge demand for silkies in my area. I live in a rural neighborhood in the county and we already have 7 pet standard chickens. We have a huge backyard on a double lot. Would it be unheard of to start a small silkie breeding program at my home? Would I be able to be nipi certified?

Certification would be possible. Be sure to get the best quality breeder stock as possible. It costs no more to feed quality birds, and their offspring are worth more. Good luck.
