from NJ. We were new to chickens too, we started with guineas and ducks in July/August 2008. When we decided to get chickens we all had a different idea of what we were looking for (me, DH and DS). We did some research and asked some friends that have chickens. These are technically DS's birds, so he had most of say, but we ended up with an assortment of different chicks for different reasons. Of course now that I've been on BYC I want more....
