Help! I’m on round two of treating for stick tight fleas. The first treatment was petroleum jelly mixed with poultry dust applied to each chicken's face. I also sprayed the coop with a 1:100 mix of Permethrin. Now, 21 days later, the fleas are back. Treated the chickens with the petroleum jelly mixture again and sprayed a stronger mix of Permethrin( 5 ounces of Permethrin to 2.5 gallons of water) Any other ideas? Thanks!

From what I've learned about fleas - the hard way - is the eggs are pretty much "bullet proof" to pesticides. You need to retreat the areas again at least two times, no more than one week apart, to kill any new hatches. You will most likely need to set up a maintenance spraying schedule for a little while, too, to get the ones that were "away from home" when you first sprayed.

Ugh! Thanks so much for the information. Looks like I need to stock up on Permethrin!

They make a super concentrated version, so you might want to consider that. The one I just bought is Martin's SRF 36.8%, so almost 4 times as concentrated as the 10% solution.
