I noticed today that my dogs have some sticktight fleas. I checked my flock and they do not appear to have any. My dogs do not have access to my chickens (they don't play nicely together ). Any ideas or experience on where else my dogs may be getting them from? I do love near an acequia (ditch) and I have lots of trees so there is other wildlife (squirrels, ducks, birds, skunks, raccoons...)Thanks in advance!

I had never heard of them. After a Google search if says they can infest many different species including humans. I would treat your dogs with a flea preventive, as well as wash their bedding and spray any carpeting to be rid of them before they get to your chickens.

I've treated all 3 of my dogs and less than 24 hours later most of them are gone. Luckily my dogs did not have a lot of them so it wasn't a huge deal. Thanks!
