I got a still air bater but with no turner, I tried hatching last month but temp got to high, ugh
Going to try again maybe Saturday if I got enough eggs, I. Letting the bater run till then so I can watch my temps, does anyone has a bater like this with good luck?
Oh will be putting dominique and RIR dom cross, and some mixed up eggs from good layers

Yes, still air is all I've used. Last batch my egg turner took a dump and not sure how long it had gone out. I'm sure it had a toll on the hatch since 17 that went into lockdown only 5 hatched last week. I filled my bator again yesterday with no egg turner so having to manually do this. Will see how it works out but I've hatched all my home grown chicks this way.

I have always used still air incubators, (LG9200) and have good success rate. Some failures but more success than fail for me. Main issue with the temps I find that the better room controled enviroment the better luck with stable temps. Even very slight drafts or 25% sunlight on the machine can throw it way off. Finally got the humidity up to where it "should" be after 6 years of using them. Never had issues with lower humidity effeting hatches that I noticed. Even duck eggs.
Another issue tht I do notice though is readjustments can throw a real bad temp variant in the bator. 2 degree low and you nudge it up then hour later your 5 degrees high. If you can get it set best to leave after that. Every time I adjust for a low/high after initial set I have a heck of a time dialing it back in. I have had better luck adding hot/warm water to the reserves to level out the temp works better than just adjusting dial after set point is established.

I think the outside themp change and me nudging it everyhour to get the temp right, is what screwed meup last time, this time I'm going to have to leave it alone and only turn eggs and not the temp dail, I turn eggs 3 times a day right?

They say 3 times a day is best. However, due to my work schedule I have been turning two times basically every 12 hours. On my weekends I do turn 3 times. So this Tuesday is going to be day 14. I did a candle on day 7 & of the 51 eggs I took out 2 for non-fertility issues. The rest were veining with a little dark pea spot. All I've done this time is fill the bottom reserves of water & adjusted to 102 degrees. I've seen some where that still air should be set at this temp for whatever reason it seems to be working because this is the first time I've seen such a good hatch this far into it.

Good luck!

I have a little giant styrofoam bator I've used for the least few years. I made a little modification to mine though, pulled the fan out of an old computer power supply and spliced it to an old cell phone charger cord. Circulating the air inside of the bator makes it easier to regulate the temp and humidity in my opinion
