Still not laying in the best box?

I recently ran a thread regarding my chickens not laying in their nest box but on their perch into the droppings tray. The nest boxes are on the ground floor and measure 12 x 12 approx and their perch is above this on the 1st floor so to speak.

Now after some good advice I have placed some comfortable bedding in the boxes and stopped putting wood shavings on the dropping tray, put a couple of the laid eggs in the boxes and partitioned the boxes off from the side with a piece of plywood making a kind of screen. Still no joy!!

I have the same problem! This morning I woke up to very soft eggs with two broken on the floor directly under the perch. I am hoping that because young layers (not eating the laying pellets) that this could be be the reason for mine. Someone very wise had recommended on my post to make a mash of pellets softened with oatmeal. They loved it!! I'm also hoping that as the shell harden it won't be as easy for the egg to drop, that they will instinctively go into their nesting boxes. Keeping my fingers crossed!!! Hope it's not a permanent issue.
