Dapple seems to have disappeared without a trace. I'm holding out hope that she is hiding in the woods somewhere, but with the predators here I doubt she would last long.

I hope Dapple comes back. I've had hens disappear overnight and show up the next day -- despite an abundance of coyotes, escaped neighbors' dogs, minks, and array of other predators.

Thanks! I've had that happen before as well. However, Dapple wasn't on the roost last night and didn't come back today. We've looked and looked and haven't seen any evidence of a predator attack.

DAPPLE IS ALIVE!!! You will never guess where I found her. She was trapped underneath one of the duck pools that had blown over in the wind. I feel terrible!!! If I hadn't filled the duck pools today she probably would have starved to death under there. But I have learned my lesson - don't prop up pools/feed pans in the poultry pens!

Hurray that Dabble is alive and well -- but she may want to avoid duck pools for the rest of her life!! Thank goodness you found her.
