We have our six 8 month old pullets in a mobile coop & run that is moved every 5-7 days. The coop does not smell bad, as I use pine shavings liberally & clean it out every day. However, the girls tend to poop everywhere in the run: on all the wooden posts & roosts, on the ladder going into the coop, & all over the grass that they're supposed to be foraging in. The run is about 12x7 & they don't seem to be crowded, but I'm paranoid about them stepping in their poop, & really can't clean all the poop off the grass & all the wood. I've started using DE & shavings over the grass to cover it a bit, but not sure what to do. These birds are crapping machines & the sanitation aspect is really worrying me. Thank you!
