stop turning on day 17 or 18?

Hi,

Day 17 is tomorrow, and I am going out with the "girlfriends" overnight. I read on one of the online sights that you should stop turning and raise the humidity on day 17?

Is that true or do you guys wait until day 18?

My humidity has been at about 50% the entire time, but my temps kept elevating today (hitting 103.+), I candled tonight and some of the eggs have a larger, uneven air cell, yet still have movement,

a) do you think too much water has evaporated from the egg?

b)will raising the humidity help it?

Thanks you guys for your helpfulness and quick answering as I am leaving tomorrow afternoon!

PS Hubby and kids may or may not be gentle enough to turn for me while I'm gone!

Stop turning them tomorrow morning and raise the humidity. If your temps are a little high they may start to hatch a little early. Extra heat produced by chicks may be causing the temp spikes also. Do not candle them anymore at this point. The chicks need to align themselves to hatch. opening the incubator and taking them out will cause them to lose valuable moisture.
