I used to love watcing my ducks spazz out in the fresh water when I cleaned their pool. They would get in and just go crazy. So entertaining! I went away one weekend, my husband and son tended to them while I was gone. Starting that weekend and still, the stopped going in their pool altogether. I’m in New Jersey and it’s been so hot and humid here. I would think they we be in it even more. I tried putting treats in it, they love cherry tomatoes (cut in half). They still won’t go in. Actually, it was the Fourth of July when I was gone and read somewhere that if they get scared by something thatcould do it. My husband said there were lots of fireworks in our neighborhood that weekend. Could that be it? I just want them to get in the pool and cool off. Thoughts? Suggestions? I appreciate it.

Could you empty the pool and then throw in treats? Once they were used to jumping in it without water they may choose to go in when it's filled.

The pool is raised up and they wouldn’t even see there are treat in it. Once I put treats leading up the ramp but they only ste them about half way up. The pool is different then the one seen here. It’s the same kind of pool just bigger with a pea gravel ramp up to it. They were using it just fine and stopped for some reason
