Has anyone ever used a storage building from Home Depot and added to it to use as a coop? I see what most people spend on average to build their own and was wondering why not get a shed and just make it into a coop to save time?

That's exactly what I did...after figuring out the costs, etc., I bought a Lifetime 5' x 8' shed and am adapting it for my ladies..working out great so far! I'll attach my run to the side where I cut out the pop hole and voila! Best of luck in your decision making!

If you have the time you could also look for one on Craigslist. Neighbor of mine got one real cheap that way, it had been hit by a truck and part of the wall was damaged. He just installed a window where the damaged area was and he was good to go.

Thank you for your responses and I will look into used coops, although it was mentioned in another forum that you risk ticks ect...with purchasing a used coop... any thoughts?
