Strange Behavoir

Ok first of all I'm not crazy. I had to see this several times to be sure I wasn't crazy but its really happening. I have a Rhode Island Red hen (Gertrude) thats around 1½ years old. Recently I have saw her mounting the other hens like a rooster does and going through all the motions of a rooster. I do have a rooster and he does his thing regularly to all the hens including Gertrude. I guess shes not hurting anything but kinda seems strange to me. Has anyone had this occurrence with any of their chickens or have any idea whats going on with Gertrude ?

My guess is Gertrude is dominating the others, though it is possible that Gertrude is a hermaphrodite or that her ovary has failed, does she lay eggs and is she top hen.

Yes Gertrude does lay eggs and shes not the top hen. I have a big barred rock that no one messes with other than the rooster.
