Hi, just wanting a second opinion. We introduced 2 20 week old silkies to our flock 1 week ago and they are sleeping in a different coop to our other girls. Went to clean the coop today and noticed this poop with what looks like some insides. From the chicken poop chart on other threads I think it's normal, but like I said, would like a second opinion.

Ugh trying to figure out how to upload pictures...

I believe that is some intestinal shed that is tissue normally expelled from the lining of the gut. It is normal, but if you see more in the morning, or pink or red bloody stool, or notice any of the chickens acting lethargic, then get some Corid (amprollium) to start treatment for coccidosis.

X2, if they start acting sick then its likely coccidiosis.

Thank you, no more bloody poops, at least not in the coop, will check again tomorrow morning. I did think it looked like intestines or similar, didn't see any worms in the poop yesterday.Chickens all seem fine, foraging and moving around most of the time. Not acting "sick" but will keep an eye on them and keep you updated if anything changes.
thanks for replying!

This morning before I left for work I gave the girls (and our little roo) all some treats and alf roo took a poo (rhyming not intended) in front of me. Saw what looked like an alfalfa sprout. Got a stick and pulled it out. Didn't have a camera so no picture but Mr Google suggested it looked like round worm. Stopped at the vet today and got worming medicine and have dosed him up.
He was the same one with the intestinal shedding. Hope it hasn't been going on all week! It's just going light when we leave for work and everyone is in bed by the time we get home. Intend to worm the girls tomorrow to be sure.
Just keeping you updated.

It was moxidectin we got from the vet. Once I treat my girls, will I have to discard their eggs?
Thanks!
