Strange Blue Swede

I have a female? Blue Swede who is mounting my female Crested like it's a boy. But then will sit on the nest for days if I leave eggs in there. Is this normal? Is it a male? What's going on?!?!?

Yes this is very typical of females ducks.

Mounting isn't just about reproduction. It is also about social status. So it can be practiced by both genders.

If your duck has 2 small curls at his tail, he is a drake. If he makes a ratchet sound instead of a quack, he is a male. If she has a loud quack, then she is a female.
