got chickens that lay normal size eggs one day and the next they lay tiny eggs wat could cause this? and also they eat their eggs but not all the time? any ideas that might help? could they be lacking in something? please help

have they just recently started laying? If so it may just take them a while to get the kinks worked out. Are you feeding a "layer" feed? Providing calcium (oyster shell)? They may be eating the eggs out of calcium deficiency. If an egg got broken soon after laying it they may be eating it opportunistically rather than being a true "egg-eater".

they get food scraps grain and layer pellets they been laying for ages and it only just started

HHHMMMMM. Ok, general health? Maybe try oyster shell, see if it helps. Could be they simply need a little more calcium than the layer is providing. It could be anything, or just a phase.
Giving a little extra protein may help too
