I found this two toned egg today and I’m wondering why it’s like this? It looks like it’s been bleached by the sun but that’s definitely not the case. This is a fresh egg that I gathered from my chicken coop.

Welcome to BYC.

Sometimes you get a glitch in the "spray booth" as the egg is processed.

Is there extra calcium on the pale side? I've never gotten one with that much contrast, but every time I've had one with a pale area on a brown egg it had the sandpapery feel of calcium deposits.

Yes! It is sandpapery! That’s crazy… So nothing I need to be concerned with?

A one-off odd egg is nothing to work about. Glitches happen.

If it is a constant issue over time then it's something to bear in mind. I have an SLW whom I won't breed because all her eggs have calcium lumps.
