strange looking eggs

for a while now, we are getting some eggs with a strange bump on the outside and when we break the egg, there is a small piece of dark matter in the yolk. Anyone ever see this? What does it mean? Thanks, Patty

Looks like a calcium deposit. Do you feed a layer ration? Dark spots inside are either a spot of extra pigment or a meat spot, a bit of tissue from the oviduct.

Hello and thank you for your advice. I apologize for the lag in response time, been caught up in all the craziness of these times. Anyway, yes, we do use a layer food and inside the eggs we sometimes see a dark pigment or small dark piece in the white. It does 'cook out' or I have used a spoon to fish it out. - Patty
