Recently sold two barred rock hens to a customer in a flock reduction. Birds looked great in pre sale assessment. Healthy feet, good body condition, etc. However, one bird stretches her neck and then drops it abruptly after arriving at the customers home. Birds were raised inside a cold open movement barn after pasturing all summer and are now in a comfy heated coop. I need advice on the possible conditions that might be at play. Impacted crop? Gape (no mouth opening)? Worms? Other? These conditions were not apparent before sale. I have offered an immediate replacement but I am curious how to advise/proceed with treatment. Help, please! I have a video to share for diagnostic help.
