The pictures show that the chicken is hatched with a normal beak - if you zoom in, you can see better!
But later as little Padovanna grew her upper beak became very hunched over, so much so that her mouth was constantly open
I tried to correct the beak by cutting, but it was so deformed that I failed, so she eventually died.
I'm sorry I don't have pictures of the deformation at a later stage,i had yust those two.
The chicken was not born with a deformity, so what then caused the later deformation? What did I do wrong?

(Sorry on my bad English,i hope that you understund me)

My condolences on your loss. Padovanna was lovely. :hugs

I've seen birds hatched with crossbeaks and crossbills, and, based on my experience, suspect a genetic issue may have been the cause, even if her beak looked normal at first. Sometimes the deformity manifests as the slightest, nearly imperceptible, misalignment...and as the bird grows, it can become markedly worse. 🙁 I think it's unlikely you were responsible, so please don't blame yourself.
