strange tom dance?

This is going to sound very stupid, but just want to clarify, i have a blue tom that is strutting 95% of the time that he is not sleeping. I'm used to all the moves that go with that. well this morning he started something new. struts up then droops the wings(not with the push he would for a strut), then starts stamping his feet and gyrating (all from a standing position), almost looks like positioning for mating, but there's nothing under or by him, the hens are just walking around. is this normal? has april 2011 hatch

Our breeder tom did so much "throwing up airballs" when our broody hen was on her nest that we finally isolated him in an unoccupied chicken tractor, because we were afraid he'd knock into her and disrupt the eggs. That is precisely what I was trying to avoid, i.e., off-the-cuff explanation for youngest grandson's edification (not).

It is good they have so much `strut', as their fretting with the molting and jolting occasionally leaves me feeling that I'd be doing them a favor by placing them in the oven
